Our Methodology

How We Rate

Every Aviator casino on Play Aviator iPhone is evaluated through a 4-pillar methodology designed specifically for Apple hardware. We test on physical iPhone devices, not emulators or screenshots. Each pillar contributes equally to the final rating.

01
Pillar One

iPhone Model Testing

Every casino is tested on at least three iPhone generations: a current Pro model (iPhone 16 Pro), a previous-generation Pro (iPhone 15 Pro), and a standard model (iPhone 16 or iPhone 15). This ensures compatibility across the A16, A17 Pro, and A18 Pro chipsets. We measure page load time, Aviator game initialization speed, and frame rate stability during 50 consecutive rounds on each device.

What We Measure

  • Safari page load speed across 3 iPhone generations
  • Game initialization time from tap to first round
  • Frame rate stability during flight animation
  • Memory consumption after 1-hour continuous play
  • Battery drain per hour at full brightness

02
Pillar Two

ProMotion Display Quality

On ProMotion-equipped iPhones (Pro models), we verify that the Aviator game actually renders at 120fps rather than being capped at 60fps by the casino's web implementation. Many operators fail this test because their animation loop is hard-coded to 60Hz. We use Safari Web Inspector's performance timeline to measure actual frame timing during the ascending flight phase.

What We Measure

  • Actual frame rate during flight animation (target: 120fps)
  • Frame timing consistency (target: sub-1ms jitter)
  • Dropped frame count per 100 rounds
  • Multiplier counter update frequency
  • Adaptive refresh rate behaviour during idle periods

03
Pillar Three

Face ID Integration

We test how well each casino integrates with Safari's AutoFill and Face ID authentication. The best operators allow Face ID login on every visit without requiring manual credential entry. We also test whether Face ID works correctly for Apple Pay deposit confirmation and whether the casino's 2FA implementation conflicts with Face ID biometric login.

What We Measure

  • Face ID login success rate across 20 sessions
  • AutoFill credential storage reliability
  • Apple Pay Face ID deposit confirmation speed
  • 2FA compatibility with biometric login
  • Secure Enclave credential handling

Pillar Four

Apple Pay Speed

Deposit and withdrawal speed through Apple Pay is the final pillar. We time the entire deposit flow: from tapping the deposit button, through the Apple Pay sheet appearing, to double-clicking the side button, Face ID authenticating, and the casino balance updating on screen. The best operators complete this in under 3 seconds. We also test Apple Pay withdrawal availability and processing time.

What We Measure

  • Deposit completion time (tap to balance update)
  • Apple Pay sheet load speed
  • Face ID authentication delay
  • Apple Pay withdrawal availability
  • Transaction tokenization verification

How Scores Are Calculated

Each pillar is scored from 0 to 10. The four pillar scores are averaged equally to produce the final iPhone Aviator rating. Casinos must achieve a minimum of 7.0 across all four pillars to appear on our editorial shortlist. Any casino scoring below 5.0 on any single pillar is automatically excluded, regardless of overall average.

Rating Methodology

The Play Aviator iPhone Rating System Explained

Our 4-pillar rating system was designed to capture the aspects of the Aviator casino experience that matter specifically to iPhone users. Generic mobile casino review sites evaluate factors like game variety, desktop interface quality, and promotional breadth -- none of which are relevant to a player who wants to know whether Aviator runs at 120fps on their iPhone 16 Pro or whether Apple Pay deposits complete in under 3 seconds.

We re-test every casino in our shortlist on a quarterly basis, coinciding with major iOS updates. When Apple releases a new iOS version, we verify that each casino's Safari web app maintains compatibility and performance. Casinos that regress in any pillar after an iOS update receive a temporary warning badge until the issue is resolved.

Our testing methodology is fully documented and reproducible. We publish the specific Safari Web Inspector commands used for frame rate measurement, the precise timing methodology for Apple Pay deposit testing, and the device firmware versions used during each review cycle. This transparency allows technically inclined readers to verify our claims independently.

  • Quarterly re-testing cycle
  • iOS update compatibility checks
  • Reproducible testing methodology
